Long Atlantic coastlines, islands that redefine beauty, pristine beaches, and magnificent mountains; this is what Santa Catarina brings to you. This beautiful state settles itself in the southern part of Brazil, known for its varied captivating places of natural beauty.

Ponta dos Ganchos

Life’s a beautiful beach in the sunny state of Santa Cantarina as its spectacular coastline is dotted with unique and magnificent beaches; and has beaches that would please every kind of traveller for sure. Once in a while, a secluded romantic holiday with your partner is all you need to fall in love yet again.

We found just what we were looking for at the Governador Celso Ramos in Santa Catarin, which has just the perfect resort that features beautiful sea views overlooking the gorgeous Brazilian Emerald Coast, offering the best private islands perfect for our long-planned romantic sojourn.

Beach beauty that mesmerizes

Located on a private peninsula near Florianópolis on Brazil’s south coast, Ponta dos Ganchos is one of Brazil’s most exclusive beach resorts. It is a luxurious, secluded beach hotel with private cabanas and commanding views on the side of a forested hill, where huge private decks give magnificent views of Ganchos bay. Idyllic landscapes of emerald sea and forest, contemporary interiors in 25 beautiful cabanas, some with private plunge pools, saunas and Jacuzzis, and excellent service, for instance breakfast can be served at any hour of the day, are Ponta dos Ganchos’s assets.

Wooden decking, enormous windows, and an abundance of hammocks make this rural resort unique in its own way.

Heart and soul of holidaying
But it’s the view – mountains in the background, ocean in the foreground – that took our breath away. Stone pathways link private cabanas, while oversized white umbrellas, sun loungers, and decadent four-poster day beds dot the beach. We were awestruck by the various services on offer and the many activities to choose from; making this one of our best holidays ever.

Amenities for secluded outing
The hillside is home to 25 cabanas made from stone and wood. Even the smallest is impressively large, at 1,035 square feet, while the balconies, also huge, all face seaward. While the bed and living room décor is simple and muted, each space comes fully equipped with modern amenities for days of relaxation. For a secluded outing time one can spring for one of the “Special Villas,” which have private pools, gardens, and wine cellars.

Man-made luxury redefined
A ridge of Atlantic rainforest runs down to the water, where three tiny islands horseshoe around a sandy bay. The coast around the resort on either side has tiny fishing villages which stay put and bask in luxury. There is an indoor pool, tennis and volleyball courts, and even a private cinema. Snorkelling, diving, canoeing, sailing and boat trips are also on offer. All of these made it the perfect getaway for our extended leisurely holiday. We were told that the best time to visit would generally be from December to April as it is warm and humid during that time.

Cherished relaxation & rejuvenation
This chilled, calm and exotic resort is the perfect antidote with its quaint beaches and sunny weather, making sun-bathing all the more relaxing and rejuvenating. We let the magic of Ponta dos Ganchos work on us and basked in the glory of the sun while indulging ourselves with delicious food and drinks. At night, the lush and unspoilt “Yes!” Island made the perfect stage for special occasions and celebrations. The intimate setting with the Emerald Coast as backdrop was the ideal stage for our romantic candlelit dinners, where we renewed our wedding vows – An idyllic oasis just for two souls in love.
